Western Michigan University’s School of Music is thrilled to announce that we will host the SCI National Conference in 2017. This year’s featured guest ensembles include Ensemble Dal Niente, Spektral Quartet, SPLICE Ensemble, Coalescence Percussion Duo, and Duo Furioso.

Short note about the piece:
Written in SuperCollider, 60 bandos 60 brings back elements of Argentine urban culture. Tango, soccer and the city of Buenos Aires create an innovative soundscape based on traditional sounds.
The bandoneón sound sources were recorded in Amsterdam by Matías Pedrana.
Nunca tan lejos at the TUTTI Festival – Denison University
My piece “Nunca tan lejos” for vibraphone and multimedia was selected for performance at the Tutti festival at Denison University this February in Ohio.

On 10-5 and 10-6 I presented works at the 43rd International Viola Congress in Cremona and at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome. Outstanding work by violists Daphne Gerling and Wendy Richman!
The UT Electroacoustic Ensemble at the 2016 Electro-music Festival
The University of Tennessee Electroacoustic Ensemble will be part of the 2016 Electro-music Festival in Huguenot, NY in September 9 – 10. The group is also part of the CD to be released as part of the event. Here the artwork of the album. You can click on the image if you want to purchase a copy.
Inextinguishable Oliveira
On Sunday August 7th, percussionist Roberto Oliveira will perform two of my most recent multimedia works with live vibraphone. The event will take place on 8/7 10PM in the “O son da praza” events in Tomiño, Galicia.
The same repertoire will also be performed by Oliveira on 8/19 in Turonia.

Crippled Tango in Buenos Aires
The duo formed by Cecilia Frias (piano) and Sebastián Tozzola (bass clarinet) will perform the Argentine premiere of my piece “Crippled tango” on August 6th.

El clarinete bajo y el piano. La música creada específicamente para estos dos instrumentos juntos es el motor que lleva adelante a este duo que formamos felizmente con Cecilia Frias.
Allí se nos ve ensayando para el concierto que tendrá lugar en la Biblioteca para Ciegos (Lezica 3909) el dia sábado 6 de agosto a las 18hs, en donde estaremos tocando Crippled Tango, de Jorge Variego, Edifice de David Bennett Thomas y la Sonata de Arthur Gottschalk.
