University of Tennessee Electroacoustic Ensemble



The newly formed UT Electroacoustic Ensemble provides a platform for students to develop and design instruments while using them in a multidisciplinary performance setting. The group combines visuals with electronic and acoustic instruments, searching for a path among the aesthetics of Evan Parker, FURT and Anthony Braxton.

The ensemble’s performance at the UT Contemporary Music Festival at the Black Box of the Emporium, downtown Knoxville.

The Crazy Goat Project

Untitled1The CrazyGoat Project es un dúo exclusivamente dedicado al estudio y la difusión de música nueva. Integrado por Roberto Oliveira (percusión) y Jorge Variego (clarinetes, electrónica, composición), el grupo ofrece una amplia gama de sonoridades que va desde solos de carácter íntimo, a dúos con electrónica, multi percusión, clarinetes y medios visuales.

El repertorio del dúo incluye composiciones originales y obras nuevas de Jonathan Nangle, Brian Keegan, Garrett Sholdice, Sergio Fidemraizer, Carlos Perón Cano, Andrés Álvarez, Andrés Levin, Martín Gendelman, Dante Grela, Claudio Lluán, y Daniel Schachter entre muchos otros.

Los integrantes del grupo son educadores con experiencia internacional y pueden ofrecer talleres/clínicas en una variedad de temas:

– Enfoques sobre la composición algorítmica
– Estudio de repertorio orquestal y contemporáneo para percusión
– Clarinete, nuevas técnicas y repertorio
– Improvisación con ensemble híbrido
– Electrónica en vivo
– Diseño de instrumentos

CrazyGoat Project is a duo exclusively dedicated to the study and performance of new music. Integrated by Roberto Oliveira (percussion) and Jorge Variego (clarinets, electronics, composition) the group offers a vast palette of sonorities that ranges from intimate solos to multilayered duos that involve electronics, multi percussion, clarinets and visuals.

The duo’s repertoire includes original compositions and new works by Jonathan Nangle, Brian Keegan, Garrett Sholdice, Sergio Fidemraizer, Carlos Perón Cano, Andrés Alvarez, Andrés Levin, Martín Gendelman, Dante Grela, Claudio Lluán, and Daniel Schachter among many others.

Both members of the group are international experienced educators and can offer workshops and clinics with a broad set of topics such as:

– Approaches on algorithmic composition
– Orchestral and contemporary repertoire for percussion
– Clarinet, new techniques and repertoire
– Improvisation with hybrid ensemble
– Live electronics
– Instrument design
